

Oldest of 3 children Edlyn was born to Ethel (Warren) and Edward Holmquist on September 9, 1925 in Cole Harbor, North Dakota. The family moved to Aumsville, Oregon when she was 10 years old. She attended Aumsville Grade and High Schools, graduating in 1943 along with 9 others. After graduating Edlyn moved to Salem to attend Capitol Business College. She held two jobs, finally settling into a lifetime career with First National Bank (First Interstate) retiring after 43 years.
Ceramics were a passion of Edlyn's, owning JEM Ceramics. She taught the art of painting and firing the wares for over 20 years out of her home on Marigold Street in Keizer, Oregon making many friends along the way.
Edlyn belonged to American Business Women's Association with a 10 years perfect attendance award. She joined the 100F Rebekah Lodge in 1948 and received her 75 year jewel in May 2024. Edlyn was also active in many other branches of the Order.
She lived in her home on Marigold Street for over 50 years finally ending up living with her good friend Gretta Underwood when she was no longer able to live alone.
Preceding in passing were her father and mother; brother Irvin Holmquist and sister Lois Christensen; step daughter Susan Nickerson and aunt Hilder Judson.
Surviving are nieces Kathleen Ewing, Mary Holmquist, Julie Peters, nephew Mark Holmquist, niece Launa (John) Jeffrey, nephew Larry (Cindy) Christensen, nephew Robin (Traci) Mennis, 4 Great nieces, 4 Great nephews, many Great Great nieces and nephews; Step children Lynn (Sylvia) Hayden, Patricia (Kenneth) McLean and step grandson Eric Nickerson. Also her close friends Gretta Underwood and family and Barb and Doug Perle and family.
