

Evelyn was born on April 2, 1954, in Hillsboro, Oregon, to her parents, Robert Vernon Hunger and Mary Marjorie (Keightley) Hunger. She dedicated her life to her family, community, and the Lord, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness.
Evelyn married Lee Cleveland in 1991, and together they raised four sons. Her role as a matriarch was one that she took very seriously, offering her family wise counsel and a listening ear whenever they needed it. She was the bedrock of her family, creating a warm and loving home that her loved ones could always return to to receive her love.
Evelyn was dedicated to her career of caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from 1985 until her retirement. She made a positive impact on countless people's lives and earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Beyond her work, Evelyn was a woman of many talents and passions. Her creative spirit found expression in her crafts and sewing, which she pursued with great skill and dedication. She was also deeply attuned to the beauty of nature, which she loved being in. Let us not forget her great love for her pugs, which were more than just pets; they were family members, bringing her immeasurable joy with their mischievous antics and unwavering affection.
Evelyn was the kind of friend everyone wishes they had. Her warmth and kindness were extended to all those she met, making her a beloved member of her community. Her unwavering commitment to serving others made her a shining example of selflessness, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Lee Cleveland, her four sons, and their wives, and her grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister Sandra, brother Kenneth, sister Barbara and brother Robert.
A viewing service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 4 to 8 PM at Virgil T Golden Funeral Services, Funeral home in Salem, Oregon, at 605 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97301. A graveside service will be held the next day on February 25, 2023, at Hopewell Cemetery at 21600 SE Church Rd, Dayton, OR 97114, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Reception and refreshments will be held afterward at 4675 Portland Rd. NE ste. 190 Salem, OR 97305, from 1 PM to 3 PM and, to which you are warmly invited.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her memory live on in our hearts and inspire us to continue in her example of love, compassion, and devotion.
