Frank Adam Stanek, “Adam” passed away in his home on June 27, 2021, at the age of 53. Son of Frank Arlen Stanek and Pamela Deane (Leonard) Stanek, he was born on October 18, 1967, in Portland, OR. He was the older of two sons, Adam and Jason.
From a young age Adam had a passion for bicycles, mainly BMX-related. He did BMX racing in his youth and continued throughout his life obtaining bicycle parts and building bikes of his liking. During his earlier years, he started the non-profit organization called “Bikes for Tikes,” where he would take unwanted, or damaged bicycles, repair them or replace parts as needed to create working bicycles that he would donate to kids who were less fortunate and in need of a new bike to ride.
Adam’s love for all things guitar-related, Harley Davidson, and rock and roll were unparalleled. Rarely was there a conversation with Adam that did not contain something guitar or Harley-Davidson, or motorcycles in the topic.
He lived almost all of his life in the Vancouver area, spending the last 25 years living with his best friend and roommate, Mark Harding. The ‘Dynamic Duo’ were well known amongst the public places they visited, such as Music World, the Sportsman’s Warehouse and local Bi-Mart.
Adam touched the hearts of many people with his kind and gentle soul. He will be forever missed by all that knew him. There will be no service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Adam is predeceased by his mother, Pam. He is survived by his father, Arlen, and younger brother Jason. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Adam’s name to Columbia River Mental Health Foundation.
