Glenda Louise Brammer (Strode), age 83, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Salem, Oregon. A devoted woman of faith and a beloved presence in the lives of many, Glenda’s life was a testament to love, grace, and unwavering belief.
Born on October 9, 1941, to Earl and Laura Strode. She lived on a farm in Salem, Oregon until she married Carl Brammer on September 2, 1960. She had many jobs around the Salem area, but the longest was being a foster parent with her husband. They were foster parents for 23 years and made a home for about 185 boys. They retired in 2004 and moved to Jefferson, Oregon.
Glenda lived a life rooted in her deep Christian faith. She was known for her radiant spirit and her commitment to sharing God’s love with everyone she met. Whether through attending Bible studies, singing praises even during times of illness, or simply offering a kind word and warm smile, Glenda embodied the teachings of Jesus in both word and deed.
Glenda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a fondness for collecting coffee mugs and dreamsicles figurines—each piece a small reflection of her warmth and whimsy. Her home was lovingly decorated with artificial roses and bright sunflowers, which she also enjoyed growing. These cheerful blooms mirrored her sunny disposition and enduring optimism.
Family was at the heart of Glenda’s world. She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Drew; her daughter-in-law Cindy Brammer (married to Randy); and her grandchildren: Logan Richardson (with his wife Sara), Tyler Richardson, Breeanna Drew, Alisa Drew, and Tanner Brammer (with his wife Katie). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Landon Richardson, Jayden Brammer, and Jaxon Brammer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Brammer in October 2018 and her son Randy Brammer in November 2020. Their memories remained close to Glenda’s heart throughout her life.
A memorial service honoring Glenda’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00pm at Turner Christian Church 7871 Marion Rd SE, Turner, OR 97392. Join us for refreshments and sharing memories of this precious soul.
