He gave life to four daughters and "stepped" up to include on son and five more daughters.
Howard graduated from Salem High School in 1959. He began working at the paper mill and joined the Naval Reserves for two terms. After 11 years he left the mill due to loosing a finger in one of the machines. In 1990 he retired from the US Postal service after 30 years. Howard and wife, Carol, began to travel more, both here and abroad.
He loved to camp, fish, hunt, and cut wood for the stove.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Carol, 10 children, 18 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Firm faith, strong values, and unwavering principles are what he lived and taught. He will be missed by many.
The Celebration of Life service will be held 19 of September, 2pm, at First Free Methodist Church on Silverton Rd. and 45th.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice or Marion-Polk Food Share.
