Ida was born to Lottie and Clarence Martin in Shiplands, Illinois and grew up in Hopewell, Oregon. She married Paul Mackey and settled down in Silverton, Oregon. They owned and operated a café. Ida then worked as head cook for Fairview Hospital and Training Center.
Ida would have given anyone the coat off her own back. She was a warm and loving person. She always thought of everyone before herself. She loved the Bible, and time with her family.
She is survived by brothers Phil (Esther) Marin, Art (Fern) Martin, Bud (Ruth) Martin and sister Doris Larson. Her children Raymond Nyhus, Sally Crutchfield, Clayton Nyhus, Olie and Robert Curtsinger, Cathy and Rick Sellers, Tina and Jan VanSabben. Grandchildren Debbie and Ervin Fodge, Paul and Pam Worman, John Crutchfield, Cherly Crutchfield, Gordon Nyhus, Shawna Curtsinger, Kitty Nyhus, Michael Nyhus, Susan Makcey and Marc Nicols, David and Suzzanne Mackey, Chris and Don Ryan, Don Mackey, Lisa and Chad Mix. She is also blessed with 26 great-great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 9am to 5pm Thursday, November 4, 2010 and services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 5, 2010 at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Home. Interment will be at Bethany Cemetery in Silverton.
