Jack L. June died on January 3rd, 2013 two weeks short of his 80th birthday, after bravely battling cancer. His last week on earth was spent at the Oregon coast with all of his children and grandchildren.
Jack was born in San Fernando, California January 17, 1933 to Claude L. June and Ethel M. June. He graduated from Porterville Union High School in 1950 and attended junior college before serving in the Army from 1954-1956 during the Korean War.
After his military service he graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from San Jose State University.
In addition to being a relentless entrepreneur, Jack held several sales and marketing positions, including Regional Sales Manager for Economics Laboratory, National Sales Manager for Torco Oil Company, and Marketing Director for Oregon Rehabilitation Association. He was a passionate advocate for Oregonians with disabilities. Most recently Jack and his wife Barbara owned DJ Testing, a drug screening business.
His lifelong passion was fishing, especially deep sea fishing. He also enjoyed sports and loved supporting the teams at North Salem High School.
The last three years of his life were greatly enriched by his wonderful church family at One Treasure Church.
Jack is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara; children: Gary June of Nyack, New York; Amy (Brad) Quicksall of Colorado Springs, Colorado; David (Tara) June of Portland, Oregon; and grandchildren: India June, Wiley June, and Luke Quicksall. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy June.
A memorial to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 11, 2013 at Salem Alliance Church 555 Gaines St. NE, Salem, Oregon, 97301.
