

When Jean was 2 years old, she moved with her parents and older sister, Phyllis, to Portland, OR, traveling across country by train. They settled in NE Portland where Jean spent the spent the rest of her childhood and teen years attending Beaumont Elementary and Grant High School, graduating in 1943.
While at Grant, Jean met the love of her life, Donald S. Andrews. After high school Jean worked and attended Oregon State College where she majored in Home Economics and belonged to the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, serving as chapter president.
After WWII, Don joined Jean at Oregon State and they were married on December 20, 1947, spending over 50 wonderful years together before Don’s passing in 1998. During their marriage Don and Jean lived in Eugene, Portland, Ashland, Los Angeles and Salem, Oregon. Jean was very active in her children’s lives, participating as Boy Scout’s Den Mother for James and Camp Fire Girl Leader to Cari and Laurie. She worked at many jobs throughout her life, retiring from the Oregon Department of Revenue in 1990.
Jean is survived by her three children Cari, James and Laurie Andrews; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her beloved little brother Frank McFarlane; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Jean will be honored quietly, by her family at a later date.
