Lisa was born on July 31, 1966 in Salem and was the daughter of Calvin and Helen (Bassinger) Miller. She graduated from McNary High School and attended Oregon State University and Chemeketa Community College. She worked for many years for the South Gate Cinema and spent the past 16 years working as an office manager for the Oregon State Police. She was to be married in the summer of 2017 to Robert Barnett, whom she loved dearly.
Lisa was an amazing, giving, kindhearted person who put the welfare of others first. She was an honest, straight shooter who loved life, loved her friends and loved her family. She was feisty with the brightest smile and a contagious sense of humor. She could fill a room with her presence and people longed to know her.
Lisa had many interests. She was a “Beaver Believer” and the best fan the Oregon State Beavers could have. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, singing (even though she couldn’t carry a tune), social gatherings and listening to Jimmy Buffet. She loved the holidays and made Christmas a special event for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers and had a special place in her heart for her beloved animals. Lisa will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lisa is survived by her fiancé, Robert Barnett of Keizer, son, Shawn Barnett of Keizer, sister, Gretchen (husband, Martin) Deacon of England and her two nephews, Robin and Shelby Deacon both of England along with her God-daughter, Katie Chandler of Keizer. Lisa is also survived by many friends whose lives she touched throughout her journey.
A private gathering will be held for Lisa. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Willamette Humane Society. Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
