Lois Jo Ann Harris

Lois was born in Portland Oregon and grew up with 3 younger siblings, Wayne, Shirley and Howard on the family farm along the Molalla River in Barlow Oregon.

She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington with a BSN in nursing then later earned a MS in Education at Oregon College of Education.

A nurse at Oregon State Hospital for 15 years then joined the faculty at Chemeketa Community College. There she discovered her love of teaching nursing students and working with fellow nursing instructors until she retired in 1998.

Lois was active with the local Oregon Nursing Association, American Business Women and a passionate 15 year volunteer with Pentacle Theater. She was a supporter of local arts, environmental issues, local food bank and loved to travel.

Lois married Eddie G. Harris (Bubba) in 1968. Eddie passed in 1991. Lois is survived by a younger sister-Shirley McLaughlin and younger brother-Wayne (sister-in-law Sherry Anderson) sister-in-law Darlene, nieces and nephews.

Thank you Lois, we’re so grateful for the blessing you’ve been to each of us. Rest well, you are due your PEACE.

A small gathering is scheduled to reunite Lois and her beloved Eddie at the Willamette National Cemetery on Monday October 31st 2022, at 2pm.
