Mary Doughton

Mary, born on August 4, 1927, grew up in Salem, and lived all her life in the area.

Church and family were very important to her. Mary loved the Lord and volunteered at the Salem First Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member. She also went on many mission trips spreading the word of God. She was involved in Stephens Ministry and visited shut ins. She retired from the Marion County Assessor’s Office.

She married David on April 26, 1947, and went on to have 3 beautiful children; Sylvia Hall (Denny), Gloria Feiring, and Claudia Gahagan. She had 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

She will be missed greatly by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, who died Feb 2, 1991.

Mary’s Celebration of Life will be Friday, March 3, 2023, 1pm at Salem First Church of the Nazarene on 1550 Market St NE, Salem, OR 97301. Viewing will be 9am to 11am at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial St SE, Salem OR 97301.
