Mick, as all who knew him, grew up in North Dakota, attending Minot State University. Moving to Salem, Oregon in 1975. He completed his education at Western Oregon University, receiving a degree in Business Administration. He was employed by the State of Oregon from 1977 through 1999, working in various departments. He received a certificate of recognition from the Association of Government Accountants, as an expert Certified Government Financial Manager. After retiring from the State of Oregon, he became a Real Estate agent and went on to become a broker and opened his own business.
He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Edna Harchenko of Salem; brothers, Dr. Vern Harchenko of Garrison North Dakota, Jerral Harchenko of Salem Oregon, Theodore Harchenko of Brooks Oregon; sisters, ViDell Tremaine of Salem Oregon, Ruby Adsitt of Dallas Oregon; and thirteen nephew and nieces.
Family and friends will gather graveside for a memorial at Bellcrest Memorial Gardens, June 28th at 4:00 pm.
