

Nancy was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Ralph Burton Dunnavan and Katharine Gertrude (Doran) Dunnavan. She graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis. After high school, Nancy attended Cottey College, Macalester College, and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in dental hygiene in 1951. She moved to Seattle where she got a Federal Civil Service job as a dental hygienist in the dental clinic at Ft. Lawton army base. It was there she met Art Jones who was a corpsman trained in repairing dental handpieces. They began dating, and were married in 1953.
In 1960, Nancy and her family moved to Oregon, first to Coos Bay and then Reedsport. In 1961, they settled in Salem, where Nancy worked as a dental hygienist until 1991. Nancy enjoyed reading, travel, going to the movies, walking, singing in the St. Vincent's church choir, and painting. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially at the holidays.
Nancy is survived by her children Patrick (Helen), Peter (Kat), Timothy (Barbara), Katharine, and Paul (Stacee); 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Arthur B. Jones and by her sister Peg Latimer.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Keizer Ridge and Brighton Hospice who took such wonderful care of Nancy in her last years.
