Paulette closed her eyes in peace on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, and awoke in heaven. She is joyfully reunited there with her husband and love of her life, Ted Layfield; her parents Gerry and Rein Baer, and little brother, Michael, along with several other loved ones. She was a kind, loving and generous presence all her life, and leaves behind a legacy of love and smiles. Her “cookie ministry” was enjoyed by countless family, friends and neighbors.
She would want us to be happy for her, although we can’t help but be sad for our own loss. “Grief is the echo of Love.” Remember all the good and don’t give a thought to anything else. She loved with all her heart. We commend her spirit to you, Lord, and thank you for the gift of Paulette. 🙏🙏
Special thanks to Redwood Heights Assisted Living, Brighton Hospice, her family, close friends and neighbors and to her “table buddies” who made her last days so enjoyable.
A Graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Queen of Peace Table of Plenty, 4227 Lone Oak Rd. SE, Salem, OR 97302; or, Willamette Humane Society, 4246 Turner Rd SE, Salem, OR 97317
