Dick was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on August 29, 1941 to Byron and Edna (Andersen) Smith. He served in the Navy as a Seabee. He loved to watch his soap operas, play video games, being with his animals, and especially loved his family.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue (Adams) Smith; and his brother David Smith. He is survived by his daughters, Cathy (Smith) Hoffman and Carol Smith; his son, Richard Smith, Jr.; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Adels and Marilyn Smith.
