

He was born in Amsterdam, New York on September 16, 1936 to parents John and Ethel Bork. The family moved to Butte, Montana where he attended school and graduated from Butte High School. He attended college at the University of Montana in Missoula, receiving a master's degree in music.
Bob married Joyce Anderson in 1959. They had three children, twins Robin and Risa and son Ryan. They later divorced.
Music was important in his life and he taught band in Joseph, Medford, Bend and Albany schools. He also played saxophone, clarinet and flute with bands in high school, college and throughout his life with big bands in Medford, Bend, Albany, Portland, Salem and Eugene.
He was an avid runner, participating in multiple marathons, enjoyed karate and mountain climbing. He was always ready to assist his neighbors and friends in any way possible.
After he retired from teaching he lived in Salem and married Connie Campbell in 1999. They enjoyed hiking and camping as well as musical events and his many band gigs.
Bob is survived by his wife Connie and children Robin Glenn (Mark), Risa Hutson (Tim) and Ryan Bork, step-daughters Tina Owens (David) and Robyn Hord (Scott), sister Linda Knievel, brother Dick Bork, eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Donna Fry and Judy Scott (Darryl) and brother Bill Bork (Arleen).
A service will be held October 20, 2024 at the Arrowhead Mobile Home Park Club House located at 5422 Portland Road NE, Salem, OR 97305.
