Shawn was such an amazing advocate for ATOD across the spectrum from prevention to recovery. She had a job that sometime was like hearding  cats, and the way she handled all of those tough situations with grace and patience was very inspiring. I feel blessed to have been a recipient of her terrific innovating training program, way back in the day and then to become a colleague and know her and learn more from her, a true privilege.  We’ll done Shawn, your legacy will live on! 💝

Shawn was an incredible champion for recovery and fiercely committed to training a workforce to help advance it.   She was fun and funny and got things done!   She will be missed but her legacy lives on.

While recovery peers are commonplace in Oregon these days Shawn Clark was one of the pioneers of the reality that people IN recovery can do the best job of engaging people who need to FIND recovery.  She was a champion of those who wanted to give back and help people achieve a clean and sober life.  Her management of the A&D training program for Oregon not only made us better educated about addiction, but a much more connected place as well.  She brought people together and used her humor and good nature to build a bond among trainers taking on the illness of addiction as a team.  She was funny, committed to the work, and represented the state of Oregon incredibly well. Shawn made a difference and she made us all enjoy being a part of that with her. - Jay Wurscher 

Shawn was a unique and wonderful colleague and friend.  I will always remember her fabulous laugh and her integrity, among many other qualities. She made a very significant contribution to the field of addiction treatment in Oregon and her impact will be felt for years to come. I’m proud to have called her my friend. 

Shawn Clark was the funniest, fairest and smartest  woman I have ever known. She was the epitome of generosity. She was a treasured friend and I know her family will miss her spirit.....thank you for being a wonderful person Shawna Lee Clark.
