Steve: Today marks five years without you. I still miss you every day.  Many things have happened since you left. Some of your friends have passed also, and many of our family members. I guess we are  not guaranteed a tomorrow, and should live our best life everyday if we can.  I’ve worked hard to take care of and update our home and yard. I’ve learned so much and have made a few mistakes along the way. So many times I would like to ask your advice or for your help, but of course you are not there. I know I will see you again one day. It’s been four years since we lost you to cancer, and you are still missed every day. Learning to do things on my own has been one of the biggest challenges, but I’ll always be thankful for all that you tried to teach me before you left. I take it one day at a time without you. Well Steve, another year has passed. I still think about you and our years together. It’s almost like you never really left….you just kind of disappeared from my life. I’m still waiting to see your face some day in a crowd of people, or to have you pull in the driveway in your favorite “RUBY” and honk the horn for me to come outside….someday…..love you.

Steve was my classmate in Kimmons Junior High and Northside High School.  He was just a friend, but a true friend even in my adult life. We both ended up in the medical field and have given medical advice back and forth for years. When Facebook came about I decided to try to find Steve because I had lost contact with him for years. I was so delighted when I found him and learned about his life and how happy he was in his medical field, in retirement and in his cars.  I was so delighted when I found him and learned about his life and how happy he was with his beautiful wife, Annie, his family, his job in the medical field, in retirement and in his cars.  He will be missed by so many and I feel like I’ve lost one of my dearest friends and it hurts.  I’m praying for you Annie, and all of your family who made Steve what he was which was a wonderful, honest and loving life good man. My latest memory was Steve asked me the next time I went to Fort Smith if I would put flowers on his father‘s grave that he hadn’t been there in a while because he lives in Oregon. I was honored to do that for Steve so right before Christmas 2019 I made a beautiful poinsettias arrangement to put on his dad’s grave. It was such an honor. His dad was a decorated WWII veteran.  Steve I will always put flowers on your dad’s resting place every time I go to Fort Smith.  Annie, I’m sending you my prayers and love from Arkansas.
