Tara Kay Johnson-Gwyn

Tara Kay Johnson-Gwyn was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. She fought a year and four months to stay on this earth for them, on July 26th, 2024 she transitioned peacefully surrounded by those who she loved. Tara was born to Theodore and Teresa Gwyn on Thursday May 12th, 1983. After she met her first husband Brandon Crick at Sprague high school, they had three beautiful Children, Calie Kay, Rylee Ann, and Finley Kenneth. After 20 years of marriage, Tara and Brandon divorced, , Tara was strong enough to make it through and found Michael Johnson, she fell in love and brought to this world, Waylon Sweede and Freya Estelle.

Tara spent the majority of her career providing, caring, and protecting the mentally unstable youth through the state of Oregon. Throughout her life Tara had many passions, including her love of singing, drawing, writing, and spending time with her family. People who knew her could recognize her laugh from a mile away and could recognize her singing from 100. She enjoyed a good karaoke party and drawing in her work books. She loved to tell stories of her work and life, to spread the joys of her day to day life.

When Tara Found out she was diagnosed with stage 4B Cholangiocarcinoma, she stayed optimistic and prepared to fight the long battle as hard as she could for her family and loved ones.

Tara Kay Johnson's funeral service is set for 11am, Thursday August 8th,2024 at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors. Located at 1350 Commercial St SE Salem, OR 97302.
