

He was very patriotic and proud to be an American. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan.
He worked for the U.S. Post office as Rural Mail Carrier in Brooks, OR for 35 years. He joined the Salem Singers in 1948 and was a part of them for 60 years. He loved Fords as everyone knew after an uncle got him interested in Fords at 5 years old. He loved the Lord and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for 40 years. He loved his brother George his wife Joanne and family, his sister Lola and family, his sister Rolleene, now deceased and her family, his sister in law Frances and family. He had many close friends including the musicians here today, Jim and Dave. He and Willard shared so many good times together and so enjoyed gospel quartets and concerts. Don Fast, deceased, also enjoyed quartets and concerts.
Survivors include his wife Doris, Brother George (Joanne), Sister Lola Hampton, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9am to 4pm at Howell Edwards Doerksen Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at 1:30pm Sun, Nov 27th at First Church of the Nazarene. Private Burial at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Church or Union Gospel Mission.
