

1988~2011
Claudio Andres Shaw, an exuberant, caring young man, died on August 16, 2011, one week after his 23rd birthday. He was born in Santiago, Chile on August 9, 1988. He lived a rich life full of travel, education and many interests. In high school he became an expert blacksmith, working in an 18th-century forge in Rhode Island. He also enjoyed archery and fishing. He served as Senior Patrol Leader of Providence Boy Scout Troop 28 and was an Eagle Scout. Last May he graduated from Trine University in Indiana, where he majored in psychology and discovered a love of singing. He was a passionate, romantic, and generous young man who loved holiday traditions and grand gestures.
Preceded in death by his grandparents John and Virginia Walker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Roy and Peggy Shaw of Salt Lake, Claudio is missed by his parents Robert and Sarah Shaw, his brother David, sister-in-law Natalie, sister Francesca, nephew Archer, and the many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were so important in his life.
A viewing will be held at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, on Saturday August 20, at 10:30 am, followed by a service at 11:30.
