Ellen L Coon

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ellen Lutitia Coon, 98, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2013 surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 6, 1915 in Payson, Utah to Golden and Anna Bell Callaway. In 1935 she married her sweetheart Claude Coon and together they had four children. Preceded in death by her husband, Claude; eldest son, Judd, and siblings Dick, Doug, Lamar and Deon. Survived by sister, Dora; children, LuAnn (Rex) Wilkins, Mark (Kari) Coon, Sherry (Richard) Hovinghoff, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who love her dearly. She will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness and ability to see the good in everyone. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Ellen’s family would like to express deep gratitude to the Beehive Home of West Jordan for the loving care they provided her as well as Gentiva Hospice for helping her final days be peaceful. Funeral services will be Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11am at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary (3401 S. Highland Dr.). There will be a viewing Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 5-7pm at the mortuary as well as one hour prior to services Monday.
