
Roseville, CA – Floyd Earl James 83, died peacefully at his home in Roseville, CA on August 10, 2011. He was born January 12, 1928 in Rock Springs, WY to James (Jim) Cunningham James and Joyce Malone. His father later married Nellie Sandiford who lovingly raised and adopted him as her own and was his true mother. They lived in Ogden where he graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber State College. Floyd married LuJean Lois Heslop. They had two children, Kathleen (Kathy) James Armbruster and Gordon Heslop James. They later divorced. He married Velma Joy Mills Tipton. They had one daughter, Pamela Joy James Parker. He helped raise Joy’s two sons, Lee Roy (Monty) Tipton and Emerson A. (Lenny) Tipton. He was a member of the LDS Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Ware. He worked in instrument repair at Hill Air Force Base and later transferred to McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento. After retiring, he and Joy spent many years creating beautiful ceramic items which they sold at various craft shows. He taught ceramics at a senior citizens center. For many years he gathered and delivered food for the Gleaners, assisting many needy people. He is survived by his son, Gordon and Ina James, Ogden; daughter Pam and Ron Parker, Rancho Cordova, CA; stepson Lenny and Belinda (Bo) Tipton, Pensacola, Florida; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joy, daughter Kathy and stepson Monty. A viewing was held in Roseville on Tuesday, August 16th. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Augusts 20, 2011 at 11 am at the LDS West Weber First Ward, 900 South 4100 West, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with the family prior to the funeral from 9:45 to 10:45 at the church. Interment, Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Boulevard.
