Gerald "Jerry" Bruce Holman passed away in the loving arms of his children on October 10, 2011 at the age of 66. Jerry was born on July 29th, 1945 in Payson, Utah to Bruce Allred Holman and Nelda Jackson Holman. Jerry grew up in Salt Lake City. After graduating from South High, he served respectfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jerry worked as a Marketing Director for General Distributing (Anheuser Busch) for over 35 years. Lifelong friends were made, many of them he treated as family, and many considered him family. If you are a fan of the Budweiser Clydesdales, you can thank Jerry for bringing them here to Utah. One of Jerry's passions was his horses, and took every spare moment he could riding on many mountains in Utah. Jerry loved golfing, westerns, and was a talented craftsman. Jerry loved his family, he shared many fond memories outdoors with them while hunting, fishing, and sheepherding at Uncompahgre Mountain Range at Savoy Creek. One of his greatest passions was fishing, during the earlier years of his kids lives, there were many trips taken to the "Berry" Strawberry Reservoir each weekend every summer. His grandkids got the pleasure of learning the art of fishing from Grandpa "papa" too, and he took great pride in that. Jerry was the "best big brother" to his siblings, and would do anything for them, he would never hesitate to help anyone, and loved doing it, his whole life he was this way, and was an amazing example to everyone. Jerry had a love for art, and was an extremely talented acrylic artist. He gave the greatest advice, always a lending hand, and loved every minute of it. Dad loved his "Rigby Ranch" out at Lakepoint, Utah where he finally got his dream to be out in the country with his horses, in the peace and quiet of a small country town where everyone takes care of everyone. Special thanks to theUniversity of Utah staff in the neuro critical care unit (NCCU) for their phenomenol care. Jerry is survived by his children "Eric"(Julie) Burkholder, "Jennifer", "Bruce"(Hillary) Holman, "Nichole"(Ryun) Sorensen, "Suzanne"(Justin) Warner.. You loved us with all your heart, and we always knew it. There will be a Huge void in our lives not being able to pick up the phone to talk, or hug the man we thought we would never lose.
