Korine was the 4th child of 10 children, Daughter of Gary Ewell and Sharlene Cannon. She was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Jeff Cook on June 28, 1986, for time and all eternity. He loved her the moment he saw her. They had recently celebrated their 36th Wedding Anniversary.
They have five beautiful children together who were her pride and joy. Rachelle (Chris), Nickelle, Janelle (Adam), Krista (Nicholas), and Dawson.
Korine was the keystone of her family. Family always came first, sacrificing her time, talents and heart for her family.
Everyone that knows Korine, recognizes her for her loving, giving heart and kind personality. She loved everyone deeply and was a selfless woman. She was passionate about sports, where she achieved female athlete of the year her senior year at Taylorsville High School. She held many church callings and loved to serve others.
Korine’s love for children was the heart and soul of her life. She claimed she was born to be a caregiver, making it her life’s work to love, teach, and raise children. She ran a in-home daycare for over 15 years, then continued to earn her education to teach preschool for another 15 years. She touched countless lives through her love and devotion including her beautiful grandchildren; Maria, Isla, Clementine and a first grandson on the way. They were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffery. Her mother, Sharlene Ewell. Siblings, Jerry (Lori) Ewell, JeriLyn (Wife of Kevin) Ewell, Darren (Lori) Ewell, Mark (Jill) Ewell, Richard (Becky) Ewell, Randy (Lena) Ewell, Gary Ewell, Christine Cooper, and Sherrie (Adam) Drais; as well many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Gary McClellan Ewell. Brother, Kevin Ewell and grandparents on both sides.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary: 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 3219 S 300 E, South Salt Lake, Utah with a viewing held prior from 8:45-9:45 AM.
