Norma Eck Taylor, age 81, passed away at home in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 26th, 2012. She was born on September 8, 1931 to Albert Eck and Anna Jones in Salt Lake City, where she grew up. Norma attended East High School, where she graduated in 1948. She married Richard Taylor on October 20th, 1949 in Salt Lake City’s First Methodist Church and was a devoted wife for 63 years. They were looking forward to celebrating their anniversary next month. Together they raised their two sons, Larry and Ritchie, and her love for her family and friends was unlimited. Not only was she a great mother, she was an incredible homemaker and hostess. Everyone was welcome in her home…her hospitality and generosity knew no bounds. At various times in her life she created beautiful homes at locations across the United States and in Europe. Norma had a love for sports that she shared with her husband. She was a bowling champion in Utah and Mississippi. She always made sure her boys had a ride home from practice and she attended every game. She enjoyed many years of retirement with her husband and all the associated travel and adventures. In later years she enjoyed reading, jig saw puzzles, and Sunday morning coffee with her friend, Jill Wrathall. She is survived by her loving husband Richard, son Ritchie, sister-in-law Barbara Eck, numerous nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends Sheri and Frank Peixoto of Fairfield, California. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, son Larry, brother Bill, and in-laws Hank and Florence Inskeep.
