Bertha Torrez Gonzalez

A Prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Ruben Reyes officiating. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday February 7, in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lionel and Michael Guerra, Guadalupe R. Alvarez Jr., James Glass, and Guillermo Gallardo.

Bertha was born on April 23, 1922 in Laredo, Texas to Santiago Torres and Dolores Chavez.

She is preceded in death by both parents, numerous brothers and sisters and two sons Joe and Agapito Alvarez.

She is survived by her husband Enrique Gonzalez of San Angelo; two sons Jessie Abalos and Guadalupe Alvarez and wife Sylvia of Austin, TX; two daughters Josie Reyes of Austin and Esther and husband Robert Glass of Lampasas, TX; twenty four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
