

Bill (Big Bill) Murphy, at the age of 53 went home to be with the Lord on March 18, 2011. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, March 21, 2011 at Grape Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Winchester officiating. Interment will follow at Grape Creek Cemetery. Bill was born on March 2, 1958 to Robert and Betty Murphy. He married the love of his life Taree (Theresa) Allen Murphy on February 15, 1986 and together they had four wonderful boys. Bill was born in Odessa and at the age of 8 moved to San Angelo. He worked at Fox Auto for 20 years and at Clark’s Wrecker Service for 4 ½ years. Bill also served on the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department for 19 years. He was President and also a Captain. Bill always loved helping other people. He is survived by his wife, Taree, their four sons and their wives, Donny and Lacy, Michael and Tiffany, Lucas and Sam, all of San Angelo; his four Grandbabies, Billy III, Shaylie, Laynie and Blaire. He is also survived by his parents, Robert and Betty Murphy, of San Angelo; his Mother and Father-in-law, Sadie And Dan Lewis, of Menard, and Mason and Karen Allen, of Coleman; his Brothers and Sisters, and their spouses, Ray and Charlene Murphy, of Sweetwater, Sherry and Ricky Preas, of Bangs, Janie Leifeste, Norman and Sharon Murphy, Lisa and Steve Shropshire, Donna and Glen Rohmfeld, all of San Angelo, and Jimmy and Carrie Allen, of Richland Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, grandparents, Wesley and Lizzie Murphy and Willie and Velma Kidwell and several aunts and uncles. Pallbearers for the service will be Bobby Murphy, Brandon Murphy, Josh Murphy, Brian Murphy, Shannon Murphy, Derek Shropshire, Jimmy Baird and Nathan Allen. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be the members of the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to extend a large thank you to the entire 3rd floor Nursing Staff, and the ER and Radiology staff at San Angelo Community Medical Center and Dr. Robert Prieto at WTMA.
