Carl Edward Mitchell, 65, of San Angelo, TX went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 19, 2020 in San Angelo. The family will receive friends for visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2020 and Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene, TX. Carl was born November 11, 1954 in San Angelo, Texas to Willie and Louise Gentry Mitchell. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Central High School with some college experience. Carl was a veteran in the Army, he served in the Vietnam War from 1972-1976. Carl was honorably discharged from the Army, after that he was a construction worker that built part of San Angelo’s Highway Overpass. He was a loving father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. Carl loved to listen to different types of genres of music and his favorite rock band was “Living Colour” from the 1980’s. Carl loved fishing, walking the city and spending time with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Louise and his brothers, Roger, Steve, Jerry and Herbert Mitchell, daughter, Tai Rajai Limuel-Battle and granddaughter, Teyonce Limuel. He is survived by his loving children, Carla Limuel-Mitchell, Brandy Limuel-Mitchell of San Angelo and Joy Mitchell of Germany, 3 grandchildren, his brothers, Willie Dornell Mitchell and Clifton Mitchell of San Angelo, Annie Mae Mitchell and Jimmy Mitchell of Dallas, TX, special aunt Osie Thomas and Raymond and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rev. Joseph Suiters for all of your love and support during this time for our family.
