

Charles Clarence Ellichman, age 70, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Charles was born in Oakland, California on October 15, 1953 to Joseph and June (Whitney) Ellichman. He was a 1972 graduate of Piner High School in Santa Rosa, California.
That same year, Charles began his career in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life, Rita (Zacarias) Ellichman on August 15, 1975. During his time in the Air Force, Charles worked in the field of Fire Protection; working to the advancement of Goodfellow Base Fire Chief. He was passionate about the Fire Protection career field and his desire to upgrade fire protection capabilities to meet current codes. After 23 faithful years of service to his country, Charles retired in 1995 and went on to obtain his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Angelo State University.
Charles enjoyed spending time outdoors, specifically fishing, gardening, and astronomy. He was also a talented artist who enjoyed painting. His work ethic was unmatched; he loved to learn and his perseverance is something that will never be forgotten.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, as well as Gabriel Ellichman and John Ellichman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Rita Ellichman; his children, Christina White, Priscilla Lira, Michael Ellichman, David Ellichman, and Christopher Molstad; his grandchildren, Xavier White, Zachary White, Holly Ellichman, Lynda Russell, Nicholas Reyna, Logan Ellichman, Noah Ellichman, Hayden Ellichman, Imonique Ellichman, Jaia Johnson, Jeremiah Molstad, and Shiloh Molstad. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Aaliyah Ellichman, Domonic Sarzosa, Elijah Russell, Judah Russell, and Silvanus Russell.
An open visitation for Charles will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard Avenue, San Angelo, Texas. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home with burial to follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center as well as Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care of Charles.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles' name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
