Clemente was born on October 18, 1923 in San Angelo, Texas to Isabel and Ismael Rodriguez. As a young man, having completed his service in the Army Air Corp, he returned to San Angelo and worked for Shannon Hospital where he met his wife Christina. He and Christina were married on December 23, 1948 in San Angelo where they lived happily for 48 years. Later, he was employed by GTE Southwest Incorporated first in the print shop and subsequently as a Supply Foreman until his retirement in 1982. He was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he was actively involved with various ministries and especially the Cursillos. He later gave his time and service to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Clemente was preceded in death by his wife, Christina Rodriguez; his son, Orlando Rodriguez; his parents, Isabel and Ismael Rodriguez; two sisters, Ophelia Zepeda and Dolores Gonzalez; two brothers, Alberto Rodriguez and Ismael “Chicho” Rodriguez and his sister-in-law, Frances Rodriguez.
He is survived by one son, Armando Rodriguez and wife Yolanda of San Angelo; two daughters, Emma Azarani and husband Ali of Austin and Velma Ogan and husband, Richard of San Angelo, two grandsons, Adrian Rodriguez of San Angelo and Michael Azarani of Austin; three granddaughters, Amanda, Jennifer and Chelsea Ogan of San Angelo; and one great granddaughter, Breanna Rodriguez of San Angelo; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Clemente was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed but we take comfort in knowing he’s gone home to be with his heavenly Father and the rest of his loved ones. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks, love and gratitude to our mother’s sister, Rebecca Garcia. Our family could not have made it through this most difficult time without the loving and gentle care that Aunt Rebe gave our father for as long as she did.
