Dorace Jane Westbrook

Dorace Jane Westbrook, age 95, of Morton, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Dorace was born July 1, 1926 in Tulia, Texas to Leonard and Winnie Posey. Dorace grew up in the Grape Creek area and attended Water Valley High School. She married John Daniel Westbrook in 1941. Together they spent a part of their lives in Alamogordo, New Mexico before returning back to San Angelo.

Dorace was an avid follower of Christ. She enjoyed spreading the gospel, reading her bible, and watching preachers on television. She was quite an artistic lady as well; she crocheted hats for cancer patients, and knitted over 300 sweaters for orphan children through Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse. She was also an excellent cook, a wonderful seamstress, and a beautiful painter.

Dorace is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Westbrook, as well as her sisters, Posey Long and Mary Len Browning.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, John Kikie Westbrook and wife Leslee; Mark Westbrook, and Corey Westbrook and wife Lela; her sister; JoAnn Sherwood; her grandchildren, Mack Daniel Westbrook, Tracy May, Josh Jones, and Jake Jones, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service for Dorace will be held at 2 pm, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Grape Creek Cemetery.
