Doris Christine Brooks

She is predeceased by her husband, Dillard F. Brooks. She and Dillard owned many businesses in San Angelo, including the Dixie Club and Brooks Cafe. Mrs. Brooks was also predeceased by her sons, John D. Brooks, William C. Brooks and her daughter, Cynthia Susan Brooks Owen.

Mrs. Brooks was a faithful and devoted member of the Lake View Baptist Church. If she wasn't in her front pew she was quilting or helping in the Church kitchen.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Joanne Brooks Norred, Beverly Brooks Avery and husband, Bob, Earl Gene Brooks and wife, Ann and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who loved and admired her very much.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the Johnsons Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Fairmount Cemetery.
