Elaine Browning Bettis

Elaine Browning Bettis, age 92 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, U.S. and Gladys (Fink) Browning; and her husband, Nat C Bettis Jr. Elaine was born in Waco, Texas, graduated from Waco High School and Baylor University. She married her college sweetheart, Nat, in 1942, beginning a wonderful consecrated Christian home that lasted until Nat left this world for his home in heaven. She was a professional executive secretary serving in Corpus Christi, Texas, Jefferson City, Tenn., and Shawnee, Okla. But, more importantly, she was the loving wife and helpmate to her husband, Nat, and the dedicated mother to Myra Lin and Nat Browning Bettis. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, in Belvedere Memorial Park. She is survived by children Myra and Michael Murphy, Council, Alaska, and Nat Browning Bettis of Noble, Okla.; and two precious grandchildren, Erin and Patricia Murphy. Elaine will be remembered for her dedication to her Lord Jesus as she and Nat reared their children in a home of never-wavering Christian love and security. Her many friends will always remember her smiles and her voice in singing the praises of her Lord. Her life was full of joy and love - which became contagious to all who knew her.
