

Frances Blanek Garner, 90, of San Angelo, TX, passed away April 6, 2017 at SageCrest Talley House. She was born in Masontown, PA on July 27, 1926 . Frances Marie Blanek graduated salutatorian from Sterling City High School in 1943 and attended San Angelo Business College. On November 26, 1960, she married the love of her life, Edwin Hyer Garner. They were married for 50 years. Frances was a very loving, caring and compassionate wife to her husband Edwin; mother to Kathy and Sue; and Mimi to Sheila, John, Colt, Kelby, and Kadin. She loved Jesus and set a Godly example in the home and out in public and was loved and respected by many people. Frances was a very generous person with a big heart always helping others in need. She was a good Christian woman. Frances was involved in numerous activities around the greater San Angelo Community during her lifetime. She was very active in many ministries at Immanuel Baptist Church, which included singing with the Melody Makers, visiting the elderly in the nursing home and playing dominos with the residents when she went to visit them. She and Edwin also loved to play dominos every Friday night with close dear friends Elmer and Sybil Taylor. During her career she was a secretary at the Pentagon for the Department of Defense during WWII. Later ending her clerical career as a secretary to the Vice President of General Telephone Company. She then became a homemaker helping her husband with the ranch and enjoying her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Lynch; daughter Sue Blankemeyer and husband Dennis of Del Rio; granddaughter Sheila Eisenbach; grandsons; John and Colt Stephens; grandsons Kelby Blankemeyer of Fort Hood; and Kadin Blankemeyer of Del Rio; and great granddaughters Kirsten and Kenslei Blankemeyer of Fort Hood; a brother; Harry J. Blanek of Dallas; and many nieces and nephews and close special family friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin Hyer Garner; her parents; Joseph Lewis Blanek and Florence Bradigan; and two brothers Joseph W. Blanek and Louis J. Blanek. Many thanks to the staff of SageCrest Alzheimer's Care Center for their wonderful compassionate care for our dear loved one. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 6-8PM. Services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00P.M. at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel.
