Paula and family. I smile whenever I think of Fran - sometimes even a big loud laugh. I worked with Oliver DeGrate (in Blue Springs) and when he and Fran got together it was better than any comedy show. The wit was sharp, frequently barbed, and I just sat back and listened. I lived in Boston for 30 years so Fran and I had many conversations regarding that city, the people, and their occasional idiosyncracies. I worked with Fran for at least twelve  years when I was Chairman of the Economic Development Board and later on the City Council at the City of Blue Springs.  We probably spoke on average ever week.  Fran was always a great guy to work with and a real pro on "eco devo" stuff.  I am saddened to learn of his passing at such a young age.  I am sure that he is now putting together deals up in the sky.

I knew Fran when he worked for Blue Springs Economic Development. He was a good economic developer.  He always had a smile and nice things to say.  My condolences to his family.  Regards,

Paula, I was extremely saddened to learn of Fran's passing.  I will remember him more than a co-worker,  more as a friend...someone I always looked forward to seeing daily...someone always good for a laugh to jump-start my daily routine. 

I've been told that when somebody dies, a cloud turns into an angel, and flies up to tell God
   to put another flower on a pillow.
   A bird gives the message back to
   the world, and sings a silent prayer
   that makes the rain cry. People dis-
   appear, but they never really go away.  The spirits up there put the sun to bed, wake up grass, and spin the
earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes you can see them dancing in a cloud during the day-time, when they're supposed to be sleeping. They paint the rain-bows and also the sunsets and make waves splash and tug at the tide.
They toss shooting stars and listen to
wishes. And when they sing wind-   songs, they whisper to us, don't miss me too much. The view is nice from up here, and I'm doing just fine.

Fran was a friend of mine from his Blue Springs days.  I worked with Fran in the creation of the Main Center Redevlopment Corporation.  Fran was always a great leader with great vision.  He will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I had just started working with Fran on the proposed Business Resource Center in San Angelo. I enjoyed our meetings and his quick wit & humor. I had looked forward to working with him on the project.  My condolences to the family for their loss.

Fran and I worked together in the mid 80's. His efforts greatly benefitted our community at the time, and still do today. I was sorry to hear of his death. My condolences to his family.

I was sadden to learn of Fran's passing at such young age of 56. I knew Fran as a member of the Blue Springs Board of Aldermen and State Representative. I am now Mayor of Blue Springs and send our heartfelt condolence to his family. May God bless and comfort you in your time of sorrow.

Fran was a friend and co-worker from the Blue Springs days. I enjoyed his wit and tireless enthusiasm. He was often going in several directions at break-neck speed, and you had to be careful to not be in the way. I know his family will miss him, and I will too.  His spirit is still with us at the City of Blue Springs.

My friendship with Fran began in April 1999.  Although I was Fran's assistant at the City of Blue Springs he and I became good friends.  He was a kind soul, a man of his word, a man of morals and integrity - he was the type of boss anyone would want.  Without Fran's guidance, direction and mentoring I'm not sure I would have picked an economic development career.  I am truly grateful for the opportunity to know him in this life and pray I encounter his spirit again.

Fran was a friend and colleague of mine for over 20 plus years, and I had both the opportunity and challenge of following him when he moved positions from Blue Springs having worked here for fifteen years.  We had the opportunity to connect during our work together in both Kansas City and at conferences, and I alwasy admired his keen and dry sense of humor matched with intellect.  I also got to see a personal side of Fran during a professional grading session of our colleagues, during which I came to greatly admire his efforts and actions to provide a fair and impartial review of applicants pursuing our professional economic development designation.  Fran, you are missed.  My thoughts are with Fran's family at this time of grieving.

Paula,it is difficult to express the feeling we have when we see a friend pass from this life. I knew Fran not only a as a professional associate, but as a friend. I will rember the good time we had and know he is in a better place. Our prayers are with you.

Fran had a great many friends in the economic development profession here in the DFW area and around Texas; Missouri as well I'm sure.  A very likeable, kind and thoughtful person.
