Gary Lee Bannert

Gary worked in the electrical business for 40 plus years. He loved every minute of it and for most of that time he worked right beside his brother Raymond. He worked for Pelzel Electric, and then moved on to working for the San Angelo Independent School District. He retired from there in May 2014 with 27 years of service. After retirement, he decided he couldn’t sit still. So he went to work with his son Conan at North Texas Tubular in Ozona.

Gary was a very loving and kind hearted man that would do anything for anyone before doing for himself. Words can’t describe how wonderful he was. Gary loved wrapping his arms around his kids and grandkids to let them know everything would be okay. Gary’s happiest moments in 2014 were when he was able to be in Oklahoma with his first born granddaughter Kourtney, and when he was able to welcome his great-grandson Lucas into the world.

He was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Wanda Bannert; children: Michelle Eldridge and husband Mark of Washington, Jason Bannert of Marble Falls, Texas, Conan Ordiway and wife Mary of San Angelo, Mary Ordiway Doty and husband Justin (JoJo) of Oklahoma, Jessica Saarloos of California, and Kelby Bannert and Jerod Anderson both of San Angelo; siblings: Cathryn Nelson and husband Emil (Ed), Raymond Bannert, Sr. and wife Cecelia (Sam), and Randy Bannert, all of San Angelo; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and adopted children.
