Irene (Turk) Williams

Irene (Turk) Williams passed away January 17, 2017 at the age of 87. Irene was born January 21, 1929 on the family farm in Melvin, Texas to Acie and Julia (McLeod) Turk. She graduated from Melvin High School in 1947. Irene married James A Williams on June 18, 1947 in Melvin, Texas; they moved to San Angelo in 1955 and had 53 wonderful years together. They were blessed with 4 children. Irene was a nurse for 44 years, most of them with San Angelo Community Hospital. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Association of retired Licensed Vocational Nurses for many years and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. She is survived by her 4 children, Darlene Lampier and husband Mickey, Patricia Nichols, David Williams and wife Lisea, and Jimmy Williams and wife Michelle, all of San Angelo; 4 grandchildren, Melanie Holt and husband Toby, of San Angelo, Jerod Williams and wife Michelle, of San Antonio, TX, Kim Taylor and husband James, of Mineral Wells, TX, and Bo Williams and wife Christina, of Comanche, OK; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Viewing will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, TX.
