Iva Lea (Stamps) May

Iva Lea (Stamps) May was born on December 23, 1931 and died on April 19, 2021 peacefully in the comfort of the home she loved and surrounded by a family who adored her. She was born in Merryville, Louisiana, and lived all over Texas before settling in San Angelo. She fiercely loved her family, friends and neighbors… loved gardening & cooking & music & dancing & pets…. & kept an immaculate home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. May, and her parents, Mable Estelle Stamps and Harry Tracy Stamps. She is survived by her sister and best friend: Wanda (Stamps) Hare. She is also survived by her children: Kalton May, Kandace May Jay & Deryl, Harry Craig May & Tammy, and Kathleen May Dill & Rick. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Chelsea May, Harland May, Jenny Turner & Gregg, John Jay & Ashley, Jeff Jay, Tiffany Ruiz & Isaac, Kholden May, Gary Floyd & Deepa and Chris Floyd. She was also very proud of her great grandchildren: Olivia Valdez, Sebastian Valdez, Elliott Turner, Emmerson Turner, Griffin Turner, Grayson Jay, Sawyer Jay, Bryndle Jay, Noah Ruiz, Emma Ruiz, Maya Floyd, Camden Floyd, Rancie Pruitt, and Colt Floyd. She said many times that her faithful friends and neighbors were also family: Vanna and Mickey Almond, Sean and Shelli Carter Ilene Rees & Jonann Wanoreck.

Her family would like to express grateful appreciation for the tender and thoughtful care provided by Kindred Hospice, particularly Myra and Samantha.

Graveside services will be held at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. For those who would like to honor her with a charitable donation, please consider the American Cancer Society.
