

Jeffrey Ruston Chappell, 52, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2013 in San Angelo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 27, 2013 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in San Angelo with Rev. Tim Davenport officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Jeff was born February 6, 1952 in Memphis, Texas to Alfred Marshall and Jeralyn Ruston Chappell. San Angelo was Jeff’s hometown and he enjoyed a longtime career with Roberson’s Rent All for 20 years and went on to work for ASCO. He met and later married the love of his life Berdie Segoviano on June 8, 1979 in Memphis, TN and they shared 34 beautiful years together. Jeff was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a good ol’ boy mentality. Jeff loved hunting and cooking and being a grill master. Jeff was also a true craftsman, he loved working with his hands and spent many hours building or restoring numerous projects. Jeff adored his family and his favorite thing to do was to spend time with them and his favorite time was Sunday afternoon dinners. He will truly be missed by all who knew him and he will live on in our hearts forever. Jeff was preceded in death by his Father, Alfred, his brother, James William Chappell and one daughter, Carolyn Chappell Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving wife, Berdie Chappell, of San Angelo; his daughter, Jaqueline Chappell Velez and her husband Michael, of San Angelo; his Mother Jerri Duncan, of La Port, TX; his Brother, Joe Chappell and his wife, Laura, of Celina, TX; his Sister, Marja Chappell, of Baytown, TX; his Brother-in-law, David Rodriguez, of San Angelo; and 6 Grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friends Allyn Hepner and numerous other family members and close friends. Pallbearers for the service will be Joe Chappell, Jeremy Chappell, David Rodriguez, Michael Velez, Allyn Hepner and Ken Roberson. Donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Network.
