

John Henry (Pete) Kolster, Jr., went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 12, 2015. He was born ini San Angelo, Texas on February 27, 1935. Pete was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Joan Palladino Kolster. Also by his loving parents, Margaretta and John H. Kolster, Sr. Pete is survived by three loving sisters, Margie Tullos, Ann Carman, and Viola Rice.
John grew up in Arden, Texas, west of San Angelo. He graduated from Mertzon High School in Texas and joined the Navy. He always remembered enjoying a wonderful life fillied with many blessings from the Lord. The next best thing was meeting his wife, Joan, while working in a service station in El Paso, Texas. He always claimed it was the Lord's doing that brought them together. Pete worked for the phone company, Bell Atlantic in Arlington, Virginia, which is now Verizon. He retired in 1992. Pete and Joan both became born again Christians in 1995, and joined Harvest Baptist Church after moving back to San Angelo, Texas in 2001. Their church family has been a blessing to Pete during Joan's illness along with the support and love they received from family and friends.

Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Harvest Baptist Church, 2021 Austin St. in San Angelo with Pastor Ron Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery on Arden Road. Pallbearers are Frank Jackson, Tim Carter, Ben Koca, Aaron Baughman, Steven Whitaker, Aaron Martin, Martin Koca and David O'Dell. Honorary Pallbearers are Ted Weeaks, Mel Shull, Jarrel Harmon and Robert Peevy. Arrangments are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Harvest Baptist Church of San Angelo.
