

Joy Binion, 83, of San Angelo, passed away September 20, 2016. She was born in Barnhart, Texas on January 24, 1933. She married the love of her life James Binion on November 15, 1950. Joy worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance. She was a member of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church and had a passion for crocheting, cooking, flowers and visiting with people. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Eva Newman, and her brother, Charles Newman. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband James Binion; her children, Gary Binion and wife Beverly of Kansas, Kathy Frerich and husband Kevin of Keller, TX, Michael “Benny” Binion of San Angelo, TX, and Tracy Binion of Houston, TX; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert Newman from El Paso, TX, Sam Newman and wife Evelyn from Brownwood, TX, and Jim Newman and wife Claire from Brownwood, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
