

Her mother passed away when she was two years old. She then was cared for by her father and her grandparents Williams and her grandparents Cruthchfield. In 1927 her father married Beatrice (Richardson) Williams who Kathleen loved dearly in Brown County, Texas and always called “Mother.”
Kathleen spent many years caring for others as an office nurse in Lamesa and Lubbock. After moving to Big Spring in 1968 she tutored patients studying for the GED exam at Big Spring State Hospital. There she met and married Ben Daughtery.
After she and her husband retired, they moved to Wills Point, Texas to be closer to her children in that area. After her husband’s passing, in 2003, she moved to Royal Estates in San Angelo. In 2007 she began residing at Regency House in San Angelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters Claudine and Christine.
Kathleen is survived by her son Douglas Ashby and daughter-in-law Kath Farland of Dallas, Texas; her daughter Sandi Dean of Big Spring, Texas; and daughter Donna Ward and son-in-law-Mark Ward of Murphy, NC. Additionally she is survived by brothers Robert Williams, Roger Williams, Gaylon Williams, David Williams and sister Neita Edgar. She leaves six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who knew her as “Aunt Kat”.
She also loved to read, play cards and her favorite was the dominos game “42”.
A celebration of Kathleen Daughtery’s life will be held at the Williams family reunion. She in heaven now with God and the angels and even heaven is enriched by her presence there.
