From a humble childhood which included picking cotton and doing without, to leaving home for college by catching a ride on a fuel delivery truck to Canyon, Texas, to becoming an absolutely fabulous teacher, beginning in Gruver, Texas, she fought the good fight, she finished her course, and she kept the faith. She loved her former students. She will be missed and remembered.
