Margaretta (Margie) Kolster Tullos went to be with her Lord on December 24, 2020. Margie was born in Houston, Texas, on February 24, 1928 to John Henry and Margaretta (Thurlow) Kolster. Her family soon moved to help John Henry's family in Tom Green and Irion counties. Margie attended school in San Angelo but soon moved to the Arden community. Her schooling was interrupted when her mother became ill and needed her at home. Margie first noticed Bill Tullos in a school play at the Arden school. One of her teachers suggested that she write to him after he went into the Army Air Corp, and she began a correspondence with him. When he came home, they were married and began a life very quickly moving to the Arden ranch.
Margie was a dedicated mother raising her children, but she was never far from Bill's side -- always helping him anyway she could. Bill would say "She always had a clean house, a hot meal on the table, a warm bed, and was willing to help me in any way that I asked."
Her first love was always Bill, but she enjoyed raising African Violets and her children. She enjoyed traveling to interesting places, but was always happiest on the Bar-T ranch on the Middle Concho River in Irion County.
Preceding her in death are her parents and one brother, John Henry Kolster, Jr. and his wife Joan, and her sister Anna Mae Carmen. She is survived by her sister, Viola (Fritz), her beloved husband Bill, her children George William and wife Teri, and her daughter Carolyn Olivia Tullos McGehee, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service are 10 am Tuesday, January 5th at First Christian Church in San Angelo. A private family burial will be held at the family cemetery.
She will long be remembered for her Goggyisms -
a mess saved is a mess cleaned up!
did you intend to get your hair cut that short?
I have a right to my own opinion, even if it's wrong.
