Margarita Ojeda Guevara passed away on September 11, 2010, surrounded by her family. Margarita was born in Lamesa, Texas, on November 13, 1944, as the oldest child of Ysebel and Dominga Ojeda. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday September 14th at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Margarita’s greatest joy came from her family, and she never missed the chance to get together with them. If the celebration was close enough, Margarita would ride to the party on her scooter, followed by an entourage of her children, her sisters, and her grandchildren. Margarita loved to cheer on her Dallas Cowboys, and she watched every novella that was shown on television. Margarita also got great joy from knitting and crocheting blankets and pillows for her family members. She was a kind, simple woman who never said a bad word about anyone. She never complained, and she always had a smile on her face. Margarita was a good Christian woman, and she was loved by all who knew her. She always referred to people she talked to as “mijo” or “mija” to let them know they were special to her.
Margarita was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Isabel Ojeda Martinez; and a brother, Mariano Perez.
Margarita is survived by her husband and best friend, Jose. Jose and Margarita were first introduced by a cousin, and it was love at first sight. After a short engagement, they were married on November 27, 1965, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, Texas. Jose was her constant companion throughout the years of their marriage, and they were rarely apart. As her health declined, Jose’s excellent and loving care extended the quantity and quality of Margarita’s life.
Survivors also include her three children, Joey and wife, Cecilia Guevara, of Odessa; Carolina and husband Servando Garcia; and Shawn Guevara; all of San Angelo. Margarita is also survived by her grandchildren, Joe Manuel, Adam, and Ashley Guevara of Odessa; Miguel, Conchita, Anna, Servando, Jr., and Selina Garcia; and Shawn Guevara, Jr., all of San Angelo. Margarita had two sisters, Lupe Perez of San Angelo, and Maria Perez of Manvel, Texas. She also had three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. For thou art with me;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
