Children: Marilyn Mees Schaefer and her husband, Ed; Michael Mees; Matthew Mees and wife, Lois; Melinda Mees Darnell and husband, David; Mark Mees and wife, Torey; Mitchell Mees and wife, Veronica; Merle Mees and wife, Karen. Mary was also blessed with 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was a devoted wife, a loving mother and an accomplished homemaker. She retired after 20 years of service to Ethicon. Upon retirement Mary and her husband moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado; then on to Albuquerque, New Mexico; then to Inks Lake in the hill country of central Texas. After several years they returned to the San Angelo area, achieving partial fulfillment of the dream to live near each of their children.
Mary was an avid gardener, a gifted artisan whose creations grace the homes of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered through her crochet, needlepoint, quilts, porcelain painting and doll making. But most of all, her strong faith, her grace and that beautiful smile. If you were to ask her though; she would say her greatest accomplishment was raising her seven children.
The last two years Mary lived at the Beehive in San Angelo where she touched the lives of others and was blessed by their care and companionship. The family expresses their appreciation to: Jane, Michele, Destiny, Cynthia, Samantha F., Samantha R., Audra, Nancy, Jennifer, Betty, Ashley, Robin and Denise.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice; whose care and professionalism was so important during these past few weeks.
