On Tuesday, July 16, 2013, Matthew Dale Moos peacefully left this world. The Lord has called one of his precious children home. Visitation was held Thursday, July 18, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service is at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, Texas. Matthew was born June 2, 1981, to Dale and Kerry Moos in San Angelo. He was four weeks early, but was a healthy baby. At nine days old he suffered a massive brain aneurysm, which eventually led to the loss of the use of his muscles and body movement. He was confined to a wheelchair and was dependent on family for his care. At age five he was blessed with a sister. When she was little she did not fully understand but she loved him very much. She loved to climb on his bed to read to him and show him the pictures. She learned to walk pushing him in his wheelchair. Matt really loved his Grandpa Moos, turning his head and smiling whenever he heard the silly noises and sounds Grandpa made. He liked colorful lights, especially Christmas lights. He loved movies like Milo & Otis, Fantasia and Scooby Doo. In spite of his health issues, Matt lived a good and blessed life. He laughed and smiled with his many caretakers and nurses. He was a true fighter and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Kerry Magee Moos; and Grandpa Kennard and Grandma June Moos. He is survived by his father, Dale Moos; a sister, Karen Gigger and husband Harlee of San Angelo; a niece and nephew, Allyson and Damon Gigger; two aunts and their husbands, Connie and Darrell Rogers of San Angelo and Ginger and Mike Smith of Tuscola; grandparents Bert and Phyllis Magee; uncle Jeff Magee and children Cecelia and Tommy of Port Townsend, Wash.; and cousins Keith and Sarina Rogers and children Cayden and Carston of Kermit, Texas, Jeff Rogers of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kayla Smith of Abilene, Texas. The family would like to thank the loving staff at the San Angelo State Supported Living Center for their care of Matthew. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Rust Street Ministries or the San Angelo State Supported Living Center. Family and friends may sign an online register book at johnsons-funeralhome.com.
