

Mavis Elizabeth McCollough, 88, passed away Friday Feb. 15, 2013, at the Desert Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Midland, Texas after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas, with graveside services at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo, Texas. Services will be conducted by her husband, Rev. Clyde McCollough, Patsy Knellar and Scott Beaver. Mrs. McCollough lived her life in service to God and her Savior Jesus Christ and was at her husband's side as he attended first Seminary then pastored Churches in Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and Germany. Together they traveled the world and wherever they lived also worked with local missionaries to share God and their faith. Teaching Sunday school to all ages was her passion along with leading church youth programs. She was a talented musician with a beautiful alto voice and played the piano and organ for church services from her teenage years on and loved giving music lessons. She was an extraordinary Christian example to her family which was her joy and to everyone who knew her. Mavis is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. Clyde McCollough; daughter Elizabeth Harrell and husband John; two granddaughters, Renee Constancio and husband Marcus and Debra Lindsey; one grandson, Robert Harrell and wife Melissa; great-granddaughters Kelly Lindsey and Brittany and Kayleah Harrell; great-grandsons Paul Constancio, Matthew Lindsey and Zachary Harrell; great-great-granddaughters Jayden Lindsey and Juliet Constancio; great-great-grandsons Nathan Constancio and Caleb Windham; her sister, Maywood Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Maude Waters; two sisters; two brothers; and her great-grandson, Anthony Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of San Angelo, Texas, your church Sunday school class or your favorite charity .
