

Millard was born to Edgar Walter and Cora Waits in Heflin, Alabama on July 3, 1929 and had 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He married Mary Glynn Perkins on March 31, 1951 and had 2 daughters, Sheila and Penny. He served 21 years in the USAF, a WWII veteran with numerous medals and awards, and retired at McGuire AFB in New Jersey in November of 1967. He was a member of Angelo Heights UMC which became Sierra Vista UMC for more than 40 years and was highly regarded and loved by everyone. He is survived by his wife, Mary of 61 years; daughter, Sheila and David Yoder of Denton and Kristopher and Rachel Yoder, Taylor and Morgan of South Carolina; Danny and Chanda Yoder, Kailey and Brendon of Virginia; daughter, Penny and James Hopper, Sarah and Katie of McKinney; one sister, Mary Fields of Alabama; 2 brother-in-laws and families Ronald and Darrell Perkins of Zephyr, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be at Johnson’s Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20th from 7-9p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 21st at 10a.m. at Sierra Vista UMC with Rev. Steven Sweet officiating. Burial will be at Zephyr Cemetery in Zephyr, Texas. Pallbearers will be Danny Yoder, Brian Waits, Logan Perkins, Chad Perkins, Scott Perkins and Terry Harding.
He will be greatly missed but his legacy and love will live on forever.
